I recently came back from West Africa, visiting Conakry, Guinea, Monrovia, Liberia and Beyla, Guinea. Wow!! All I can say is what a trip! If it wasn't for my Dad saying at the beggining of the year that we were finally going to go back to our homeland.
I don't think I would of ever had the opportunity to go on my own. I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to go!
Where to even start! The trip was ablsoultey amazing we started in Conakry, Guinea, where my uncle had a beautiful house that we staid at. One thing that I really loved about the houses my family lived in was that they were all marble. I don't know how much marble cost, but it can't be cheap. I admired the smoothness of the granite and how the house had nothing but clean lines. My father and I both agreed that in order to have a a good house in Africa that it must have clean lines, other wise the building looks wobbly and not well made. A lot of houses that were started and not finshed were made in that way. Another thing that I could get very used to was having a house girl and a driver! LIIIKKEEE WHHHAAT! Let me live like the true Queen that I am is what I say! Getting up in the mornings and having breakfast already made for you, and hot coffee and eggs ready to go on the table is a an experience I will never forget! OOoo! I loved it! Also dinner made before you get home hot and ready, while you have all your clothes and shoes freshly washed and ready for your next day! Goodness gracious it was incredible! That's how our days would start and when we were ready to go out for the day a driver would come pick us up and take us to where we needed to go! Pure happiness let me tell you! (To be continued...)
